A colleague in the International Relations and Affairs Group on LinkedIn, Veronika Valdova, has offered to guest post here at Pathfinder. She has offered to write on the topic of the cost of system failure as it relates to public health and medical preparedness. Her piece will appear here in the coming days.

After graduation from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Veronika spent most of her career, first in animal nutrition and then in pharmacovigilance (drug safety). Lately, research on the military medical history of Czechoslovakia takes up most of her time and she has authored several books including one related to Czechoslovakia’s transition from Communism to democracy, “Rocky road to democracy: A struggle with legacy of two totalitarian regimes.” Other works include a Biography of Air Marshall Karel JANOU?EK and a paper on the human rights responsibilities of multinational pharmaceutical firms.
